No offence taken about your choice of films. Having the Sunday film series in my home town is a pleasure of life. But I can't take myself to "Anonymous". I am certain it is a beautiful film but I do not support questionable doubts about the authenticity of William Shakespeare. The life of the greatest expressionist of the English language should not be toyed with. Leave him alone and accept him for whom he was. These are my own thoughts to explain why I will not attend. But I am sure those who will see the film will very much enjoy it.

I am always looking forward to see the Sunday Films, however, I find it more suitable to purchase individual tickets, as I can not commit myself to future dates. I am prepared to pay a premium for those single tickets. I do not agree with your concept of "rush line" and find it discriminatory to tell me to wait until 3:55 before I can enter the theater. I already had paid my premium to have that single ticket. To tell me that the people who bought "seasons tickets" deserve preferential treatment is outrageous. To make matters worse, one of your preferential patrons had placed his coat on a seat next to him, as if it was occupied by another person. I observed, that no one came to claim the seat, this preferred patron had two seats for the price of one reduced ticket! Do your best to come up with a better solution, if you must discriminate.

Could you bring the acclaimed TIFF film "Pink Ribbons,INC" to Cobourg this year? It's an NFB film. Let me know if you're not, because if not I'm going to do it as a private individual. Thanks!

I am a patron of NFS as well as a worker bee for NFS. I was captivated by all five movies...laughed and cried and was finally released from serious emotion and tears, but still happy to be assaulted a little less physically with The Social Network's down to earth mental health issues...thank goodness, as I was fresh out of real waterworks. OMG, from the opening film Barney's Version to Facebook retrospective, an unending blast of incredible films evoking incredible emotions. And don't tell me David Suzuki is an atheist...he is closer to God than any human being can possible get. An incredible weekend. It was fantastic.

Congratulations on a great weekend of films and social events!

All the comments about the weekend among friends and family were positive (with the exception of "Broken Embraces").

The purchasing venues ensured our attendance and we will be happy to buy even earlier next time.

Once again, thank you for an enjoyable weekend from fans from Barrie, Toronto, Whitby and Cobourg.

Wonder if we might have an occasional "Canadian Heritage Film Festival". Canadians have been responsible for some great ones. I'm thinking of Sara Polley and "The Secret Life of Words" (2005) or "Lucky Star" at the 1980 Montreal International Film Festival staring Rod Steiger and directed by Max Fisher. Potential audience could submit suggestions. NFS to make final decision. Might get people looking into the past regarding Canadian film.

Every country seems to have a spell where its films really excell. I can remember India in the 60s, Australia in the 70s, Canada seems to be consistent over time, or am I just being patriotic agaion?

Problem with Heritage films is that some may be on DVD only or not available at all. Would that be a problem? Would CBC be a source?

Admin reply: We always appreciate input from our patrons but you might not be aware that Northumberland Film Sundays sources all its films from the Film Circuit division of the Toronto Film Festival. Although this gives us a wide range of films to choose from including recent releases, we show only films from this source. :)

Loved the movie ( loved French everything & Europe etc.
at the same age ). Thank you.

I prefer reviews that offer perhaps the period & country, more about direction, cinematography, stylistic quality - critical terms and no synopsis that tells the whole plot!

grateful for your organizing...

We decided that because Slumdog Millionaire is being widely shown that we would not show it as our last film in April. Hopefully we'll get one of the other Oscar winners or nominees.

Every year, following the Film Festival, I feel that I have enjoyed a 3 day banquet! I am thankful that your Committee is so well informed, enthusiastic and willing to take the chance to go out on a limb, choosing for the rest of us. I can honestly say that, while I have had my preferences, each film has enriched me in some way. Film is a powerful medium that can be used to bring insight into and appreciation of the world we live in. This note, I hope, conveys my deep appreciation.
